I am deeply grateful and somewhat awed…

It has taken me one and a half months to process the experience of the 9th International Youth Media Summit, and I am certain that there will be additional thoughts, impressions, and emotions as time goes by… I was humbled to be part of such a brave group of young (and young-at-heart!) people. To have traveled so far out of their comfort zones, some traveling great physical distances far, far from home, some traveling great emotional distances, some both… I am deeply grateful and somewhat awed…

On Saturday, July 19, 2014, a panel discussion focused on “The Role of Youth, Media and the Arts in the Future of Afghanistan” was held at Soka Univeristy during the International Youth Media Summit. The discussion was moderated by Afghan-American attorney and journalist Mariam Atash. International Orphan Care, an organization that has programs to help Afghan children, was a co-organizer of the event and representatives of IOC attended the discussion. Adaptive Medias and PlanetPix Media were corporate sponsors of the event.
