Anna works with promoting film at the Cultural Department in the region of Halland in Sweden. This means supporting professional filmmakers in the production of valuable films of all genres: short, documentary, fiction, etc. One important support is towards children and young adults in learning about and investigate in film as a means of expression and a tool for change. The region of Halland support a variety of means as to promote film among its young generation; workshops, competitions, festivals, lectures. It’s important that we give the young possibilities to learn from other people in order to grow as future filmmakers. This is why IYMS is so important to us! IYMS gives us the time, purpose and space to meet, talk, and confront our own perspectives. This is possible through meeting and working with people from different countries, backgrounds, and experiences at the summit!

“My interests in life is meeting people, reading books, watch films, and do yoga and gardening. I also like carpenting, and all sorts of handicrafts. I love taking part in the filmmaking process – meeting and relating to people and finding ways in telling a story in picture and sound, creating a piece of art for others to experience new perspectives of life. To photograph is to bear witness of unique perspectives. It is a privilege and huge power to bear this possibility, and we all need to create spaces where all kind of people can be given the tools and time to explore this. And create new witnesses, pieces of art. Through film.”
